About us

Born in 2024 out of deep conviction and collective will, the URUNANI Network is more than just an organization: it is a living coalition of African actors committed to transforming their societies through global citizenship education (GCE), reciprocal solidarity, and collective action.

À propos du Réseau URUNANI Afrique

The name URUNANI resonates as a call: that of gathering, brotherhood, and unity in diversity. In less than two years of existence, this network has federated 67 member organizations across 12 countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Congo-Brazzaville, Ivory Coast, Gabon, Madagascar, Niger, DRC, Senegal, Chad, and Togo and continues to grow.

What distinguishes Urunani from other initiatives is its deep roots in African realities. We believe that indigenous knowledge, local traditions, proverbs, and folk tales are educational resources of first-rate value. We do not seek to import educational models designed elsewhere: we co-create tools that look like us, speak to our communities, and address our challenges.

Urunani positions itself as a catalyst for change, a collaborative platform that puts actors in motion, strengthens their capacities, values their practices, and amplifies their collective impact. In the face of climate, inequality, migration, conflict, and social divide issues, we offer an African response: that of a decolonial popular education, a people-to-people exchange based on dignity, and a solidarity that builds, rather than assists.

À propos du Réseau URUNANI Afrique

In 2024, we dreamed of a network; in 2025, we host a coalition of 67 organizations in 12 countries.
